Directions to Hiddenbrooke

  1. Approaching from the Northwest
    Maryland: from Bethesda, Rockville, Frederick, Silver Spring, Columbia
    Virginia: from Tysons , Vienna, McLean, Annandale, Falls Church

    1. Use I-495, Capital Beltway Outer Loop (west in Maryland, south in Virginia)
    2. Ignore your GPS and take I-495 Exit 54A – Route 620 Braddock Road west.
    3. Your GPS will shortly correct itself and stop bothering you.
    4. Stay in the second to the leftmost lane until the roadway narrows.
    5. Turn left at Rolling Road.
    6. Don’t use the left lane on Rolling Road for too long (or you will be forced to turn left at Old Keene Mill Road). Continue straight across the Old Keene Mill Road intersection.
    7. Rolling Road will narrow to one lane in each direction after you cross Old Keene Mill Road.
    8. When Rolling Road widens to two lanes, turn left at the traffic light: Hunter Village Drive
    9. In less than ¼ mile Hiddenbrooke will be on your left at Rolling Woods Court


  2. Approaching from the North
    From Washington, DC
    Virginia: from Arlington, Pentagon City, Shirlington, Westside Alexandria, Reagan National Airport

    1. Use I-395 south
    2. Take exit 1B to Springfield – Route 644 west, Old Keene Mill Road
    3. Once on Old Keene Mill Road you have 2 miles to make your way to the left lane
    4. Turn left on Hunter Village Drive
    5. Continue on Hunter Village Drive. In 1 mile it will narrow and curve to the right.
    6. ½ mile later Hiddenbrooke will be your second right at Rolling Woods Court


  3. Approaching from the West
    Virginia: from Fairfax, Reston, Herndon, Manassas, Dulles Airport

    1. From the I-66 or the Dulles Toll Road, exit to Fairfax County Parkway—Route 286 south, towards Springfield
    2. Approaching Springfield the parkway will split. Route 286 will continue to the right, and Route 289, the Franconia-Springfield Parkway will continue to the left.
    3. Ignore your GPS. A GPS with an older map will want you to bear right. Don’t do it! A GPS with a new map will want you to take the leftmost lane. Don’t do it!
    4. Before the split, the parkway will be open to 3 lanes wide. Take the center lane and bear left at the split.
    5. The Rolling Road exit will be immediately announced after you bear left. MEMORIZE THE ROUTE NUMBER –638– and take the exit to the right.
    6. Once on the exit ramp follow the turns for Route 638 NORTH. The name Rolling Road will not be used on signs at these turns.
    7. The first right turn for Route 638 North will bypass a traffic light. The second right turn will be controlled by a traffic light. We’ll call this second turn traffic light 1.
    8. At the second turn (traffic light 1), use the rightmost lane, but turn into the center lane.
    9. Do not take the exit for Route 286 (Traffic light 2)
    10. Turn right at traffic light 3 for Hunter Village Drive
    11. In less than ¼ mile Hiddenbrooke will be on your left at Rolling Woods Court


  4. Approaching from the East
    Maryland: from Baltimore, Annapolis, Columbia, College Park, Waldorf, Andrews AFB, National Harbor
    Virginia: from Alexandria

    1. Use I-95, Capital Beltway Inner Loop (east and south in Maryland, west in Virginia)
    2. Take exit 169B to Springfield – Route 644 west, Old Keene Mill Road
    3. Once on Old Keene Mill Road you have 2 miles to make your way to the left lane
    4. Turn left on Hunter Village Drive
    5. Continue on Hunter Village Drive. In 1 mile it will narrow and curve to the right.
    6. ½ mile later Hiddenbrooke will be your second right at Rolling Woods Court


  5. Approaching from the South
    Virginia: from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Fort Belvoir, Lorton, Woodbridge, Lakeridge

    1. Use I-95 north
    2. Take exit 166B, Route 286 – Fairfax County Parkway north
    3. DO NOT TAKE the Barta Road / Rolling Road exit. That’s the wrong Rolling Road.
    4. The pavement you are on when you pass the Barta Road exit will become Rolling Road north.
    5. The right lane immediately after the Barta Road exit will become the center lane. Ignore your GPS. Stay in the center lane.
    6. Do not take the exit for Route 289 (Traffic light 1)
    7. Do not take the exit for Route 286 (Traffic light 2)
    8. Turn right at traffic light 3 for Hunter Village Drive
    9. In less than ¼ mile Hiddenbrooke will be on your left at Rolling Woods Court


  6. Approaching from Kingstowne, Springfield Town Center (mall) and the Metro Station

    1. Use the Franconia-Springfield Parkway, Route 289 west
    2. Take the exit for Route 286 SOUTH /Route 638, Fairfax Co. Pkwy and Rolling Road
    3. On the ramp, follow sign for Route 638 NORTH
    4. At the top of the ramp, turn right onto Rolling Road
    5. Turn right at next traffic light for Hunter Village Drive
    6. In less than ¼ mile Hiddenbrooke will be on your left at Rolling Woods Court
